According to Banner, 88.9% of our students are currently involved in a student organization, study abroad and/or an internship for credit. These data do not include internships for which students do not receive academic credit.

The National Survey on Student Engagement (NSSE) gives us a way to compare Truman student participation in student organizations with other Universities. NSSE asks students to identify the time they spend “participating in co-curricular activities (organizations, campus publications, student government, fraternity or sorority, intercollegiate or intramural sports, etc.)” If we pull out those students indicating that they spend “0” hours (no involvement) in these cocurricular activities, the following table summarizes what we get:
